Meet Caty Brown: Your Canton, OH Licensed Cosmetologist
Before we talk about your skin, let me introduce myself.
About Me
I’m Caty, a licensed cosmetologist in Canton. I finished cosmetology school in 2026 and opened SkinbyCat to do skin care the way I enjoy it: slow, clearly explained, and with the right products for my skin.
I’ve dealt with sensitive skin, allergies, and eczema my whole life. As I learned to care for myself, I grew interested in why skin does what it does, what actually helps, and what’s just good marketing.
My favorite part of cosmetology is the before and after. Under-eye puffiness gone. Acne calmed down. Redness that finally settles. Seeing improvement over a few visits is why I do this.
I understand how uncomfortable a skin issue can be. I also know how good it feels with the right care. That’s why I’m careful about what I keep in the room. If your skin reacts to everything, you’re in the right chair.
But cosmetology is more than skin deep. Caring for yourself and looking and feeling your best carries into everything you do. When you walk out, I want you to be relaxed, confident about your skin, and know how to keep feeling that good every day.
Training & License
I completed cosmetology school at Portage Lakes Career Center in 2026 and hold an Ohio cosmetology license. In Ohio, that covers the practice of cosmetology, including esthetics, so everything on my service menu, including facials, dermaplaning, and waxing, is work I’m specially trained for.
I’m currently working toward advanced licensing and training in advanced skin care techniques.
Outside the Studio
SkinbyCat is signed up with St. Baldrick’s, which raises money for childhood cancer research by shaving heads.
I’m also active in Christ Church of Louisville: greeting on Sunday mornings, teaching preschool Sunday school, serving on two committees, and working with our food bank.
